ARE YOU ENTERING A SHOW?

Registrations & Memberships are being CHECKED by Breed & Show Societies, therefore, if you are competing in any show run under RPSBS Rules then:

• you MUST ensure your pony is REGISTERED and entered in the correct exhibitors name (YOU, THE REGISTERED OWNER),
• ensure you, the EXHIBITOR are a CURRENT Financial member,
• if you are not handling or Riding the pony, then, make certain that your HANDLER or RIDER is at least a PARTICIPANT Member of the RPSBS,
• ensure you allow adequate time prior to the close of entries to have your unregistered or not transferred/leased ponies paperwork completed,
• members requesting transactions to be processed at short notice will be charged the published Fast Track Fee AND are not guaranteed that they will be completed if lodged at the eleventh hour prior to a show.  Office staff always try their best to accommodate members lodging paperwork and requiring it quickly, however, some matters are beyond our control, particularly if your paperwork is incomplete or incorrect.  A $20 send back fee will be imposed for any paperwork that must be returned a second time to the member for corrections or omissions.

Remember Ponies 4 years and over MUST be adult registered and cannot be shown on foal-recorded registrations. All colts 2 years and over as at 1st August must be entire.  In order to be eligible to be shown a Veterinary Certificate confirming the presence of two descended testicles must be lodged with the Society.

Check the studbook online to see the current status of your membership and your pony’s registration.

ENTRIES FOR NSW STATE RIDING PONY SHOW 1^ST DECEMBER WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY 27^TH NOVEMBER.

This decision was made to support members who were entering / attending shows at this time of year. We thank members who drew this to our attention and hope this helps you.

The trade-off for this is that the Committee is not printing a professional catalogue this year. There w

ill be a home printed catalogue prepared by the committee. Please take advantage of this change if you are one who wanted a change in entry timing.

We welcome interstate Riding Pony members who may be in Sydney for the EA National Championships or other events at this time and have a special results award or two for those competitors.

RING 3 JUDGE CHANGE

Luke Millington has withdrawn from judging Ring 3 at RPSBS NSW State Show for personal reasons. Best wishes to you Luke.

Ring 3 Judge is now Karen Townsend who is an experienced Royal/National listed RPSBS Judge and has been a past competitor at our State Show.

Show season is in full swing with many agricultural shows and HOTY happening.

Last weekend was SHCV HOTY and we sponsored the small Galloway Open championship, congratulations to the winner KT So Fine (Royalwood Boy Soprano x KT Fine Design)

Coming up next month is our Riding Pony Pageant In the Park on the 7^th of December at Akoonah Park Berwick.

In January we will be running our RPOTY at WPEC on the 12^th of January.  Judge is Janette Mann (nee Crutchfield) owner/operator of Janevelyn Stud and previous committee member and Secretary.

Program for the show is being finalised and will be released shortly.

Reminder to members that it is a requirement at our sponsored shows and events that ponies must be registered, transfer of ownerships completed, owners, handlers and riders must be financial members.  It is very upsetting to see too many people disrespecting this.

Shows coming up that are running Riding Pony Classes sponsored by the Victorian Committee are Bass Coast (Wonthaggi) Agricultural Show on the 4^th of January and Lang Lang Agricultural show on the 18/19^th of January.

The 2024 Alexia Fraser Bloodstock QLD Riding Pony Pageant has been run and won! 🏆

Thank you to each and every exhibitor for supporting the Pageant, it was fantastic to see so many Riding Pony studs attend to showcase their breeding programs and youngstock alongside a beautiful field of senior exhibits. Thank you to judges Jamie Bell and Lisa Cleary-Gutierrez for attending to officiate our program.

While the standard of exhibits was high, the number was very low. We can’t thank all of our sponsors enough for their support of this show – without each and every sponsorship dollar, the show could not have gone on. Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing the major award winners to celebrate each sponsor on our Facebook page – follow the page for the latest updates on the QLD Riding Pony scene!

DO YOU HAVE A 2024-25 SEASON NEWCOMER RIDDEN RIDING PONY? 

Each year the RPSBS QLD Committee hosts a show series for Newcomer saddle horses with a RPSBS registration, featuring Newcomer Ridden Riding Pony classes at shows across Queensland (including the Queensland Riding Pony Pageant and Toowoomba Royal Show) and culminating in a Sweepstakes Final at the Queensland Riding Pony of the Year show.

Eligible newcomers can nominate to participate in the Queensland Newcomer Ridden Riding Pony Series by returning an application form and entry fee ($44) to Jess Hannan, RPSBS QLD Ltd Newcomer Coordinator.

Exhibits must compete in the Newcomer Ridden Riding Pony classes at any show where Newcomer Ridden Riding Pony classes are offered, to qualify for entry to the series final at the 2025 Queensland Riding Pony of the Year show.
