NSW Committee

The NSW Committee held their State show for 2023 on Sunday 26th November at the Windsor Polo Club grounds at North Richmond.

Sincere thanks go to Queen Equestrian as the major sponsor of the show.

We are also grateful to the many others who sponsored this event, Sponsors included local Richmond businesses, businesses associated with Riding Pony owners and breeders as well as studs and other individuals.  We are sure everyone understands that without wonderful sponsors organisers could not put together the great prizes the Riding Pony show is famous for — please try to support those individuals and businesses who have supported our sport.

The NSW committee worked very hard to encourage members to enter for the State show.  While the number of ponies entered finally reached 60 they were all quality examples of the Riding Pony breed.

We will be congratulating our winners and placegetters via Facebook shortly, however here are some of the major results.

  • Supreme Junior Show Pony – Daisy Patch Imperial Parade
  • Supreme Senior Show Pony – Rotherwood Spring Parade
  • Supreme Senior Show Hunter Pony – EBL  Euphoria
  • The Winner of the Mary Reed Memorial class (for Ridden Show Ponies) was Royalwood Stage Princess.
  • The Winner of the Debora Bell Memorial class (for Ridden Show Hunter ponies) was EBL Euphoria.

The NSW committee thanks the judges who gave us their time and their expertise, Kate Dolan (Qld), Anne Williams (Vic) and Kylee Cowgill (NSW).  We also thank our committee workers and volunteers.  Of course, a very special thank you to the Windsor Polo Club for allowing us the use of their beautiful venue.  NSW looks forward to holding the 2024 State show at this venue again next year.

Congratulations to all the winners and placegetters at our recent RPOTY
Judges Report for the SA Riding Pony of the year show.

Firstly I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge their 2023 Riding Pony Of The Year Show that was held at the beautiful grounds at Strathalbyn.  The weather was perfect which made an enjoyable day for competitors and ponies.

Although as around the whole of Australia the numbers were not huge but the quality was amazing. Turnout was impeccable and the atmosphere was enjoyable for all.

I would like to mention a few of my major winners. Firstly the Supreme youngstock went to Wideacre Lovebridge owned by Tess Carvosso and Teresa Hawkins and beautifully shown by David Quayle. This filly oozed quality and I’m sure will be stunning later on under saddle.

Grand Champion Led Riding Pony 4yrs and older went to the very successful Royalwood Enchanting owned by Liz Francis and Catherine Gale. She is the ultimate show pony and has the presence to match.

In the showhunter section the champion mare went to  another great example of her type in Argyl Solitaire owned by Andrew and Charli Hunt and champion gelding was the true hunter Cantik Park Euphoria owned by Samantha Clancy

Grand Supreme led exhibit went to Wideacre Love Ridge

In the ridden section it was lovely to see some lovely exhibits perform under saddle.

Champion ridden show pony went to Royalwood Enchanting ridden beautifully by Margot Haynes. In the ridden showhunters champion ridden showhunter gelding went to Tamrie Park Prince Charming ridden by Tamara Cooper completing a super workout.

To finish on such a high note Grand Supreme ridden exhibit went to Royalwood Enchanting.

I would also like to congratulate the Grand Champion overheight  led and ridden exhibit and that went to Mcarthurparc Star Soprano exhibited by Mark and Isabelle Ker. Such a beautiful moving horse with that showring presence.

To Amy what a great show organiser you are and to Julie the best steward ever and a special thank you to Jill Best who transported me around and showed me some wonderful sights of Adelaide.
