At this time of year many of our members Riding Ponies are getting ready to attend major competitions in most States around Australia. Canberra Royal has finished and I must say that the quality of entries in the Riding Pony ring was amazing with Debbie Taylor Theiss and Jennifer Rutledge being the appointed judges, with very worthy winners being sashed in both the Led and Ridden RP classes.

This ring at Canberra Royal was proudly sponsored by the RP NSW committee.

Toowoomba Royal in Queensland has also finished with some very well respected winners gaining the winning accolades for Riding Ponies.

This week we see that EA  will be hosting Southern Cross at SIEC, and is followed by 2022 Grand Nationals and the Sydney Royal Easter Show at Homebush. These shows are being sponsored by RP NSW committee.

The RP Board wishes all our members good luck at these shows.

As the financial year comes to a close, each State committee will be looking for nominations to fill the vacancies on some of the States committees, please check out the RP website for information and forms.

A reminder to all members to send any results to you State publicity officer, and also the RP Annual 2022  is well under way and there is a media pack that will be on the website for any stud or  member who wishes to advertise in the Annual, please check it out .

A notice that all Riding Pony classes at all shows especially Royals are being checked so that all entries comply with the rules that they are a current financial member, as well as the handler and that horses entered are registered in the exhibitors name and are also fully transferred into the members name.

A reminder to anyone paying by Direct Deposit, please do not Direct Deposit monies into the Society’s account until you email or post the corresponding paperwork and please ensure that the deposit is referenced with the member’s name.

Shows are back, so please ensure you allow adequate time prior to the close of entries to have your unregistered or not transferred ponies paperwork completed.  Members requesting transactions to be processed at short notice will be charged the published Fast Track Fee.

A $20 send back fee is imposed for any paperwork that has to be returned a second time to the member for corrections or omissions.

The closing date for nominations to be elected on to a State Committee of the RPSBS has been extended from 1 April 2022 to 7 April 2022. 

The Society understands that many past members may not have realised that their membership had lapsed, given the lack of shows over the last two years!  There may also be some people who have been considering joining the Society but waiting to see what 2022 brings!  The Society would like to open up the nominations for the State Committee positions to any interested person, whether you are a current financial member or not.

If you are interested in joining one of the State Committees, if you are a member past, present or future, please contact your local secretary for further information.

March has seen the EA Nationals held in Victoria for the first time in over 2 years.  It was great to see many riding pony members out competing at the highest level for our saddle horses.   Congratulations to everyone that not only qualified but competed.

Currently all committees around Australia are having elections. We invite all Victorian financial members who are keen to be on Committee to reach out and express their interest, we are always in need of support and ideas.  Committee nominations close end of March.  We are working on the next edition of Rosette and will announce in April the date for our AMM in March.

The Vic RP committee are supporting the foal show classes at the Gippsland & Peninsula RPG Foal show on 1/5/22 at Oakwood Riding School, Clyde. We are also running a ring again at the North East & Border RPG Foal & Youngstock show 29th May at Tatura.
