From the Board
AHSA Contract: The RPSBS Ltd. Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the Society has entered into a further three (3) year agreement with The Arabian Horse Society of Australia Ltd. for the continued provision of RPSBS Ltd. registry services.
RPSBS Ltd. Board Secretary: The Board is also pleased to announce that Mrs Cathy Rae of Victoria has been appointed to the position of Board Secretary. Cathy is well known in Victoria Riding Pony circles having been the Victorian Committee’s secretary for the past fourteen (14) years. The Board wishes to thank Helen Dohan and Teresa Edwards, our past Board secretaries from the AHSA office, for their outstanding contributions to the Board.
RPSBS Shows: Our State Committees are busily organising RPSBS events. New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia are all preparing for events to be held before the end of the year with Queensland preparing for their state show early in 2021.
Telephone Hours: A reminder that from October 1st, the RPSBS Ltd landline 02 4577 5530 is manned daily from 11am to 4 pm eastern summer time each working day.
Judges’ Handbook: The Judges’ Handbook has been revised to include the latest Showing Rules and Regulations and there have been some changes to the suggested workouts. The September 2020 revision has not be printed in hard copy. To view and download the revised handbook, click on the following link: https://www.rpsbs.com.au/judges/judges-rules/
Judges’ Audit: The deadline for final responses to the audit was October 30. By the end of November the updated Judges list will be posted on the web site. Those Judges who failed to respond to the audit will be removed from the Judges’ Panel.
Policy Updates: The following policies have been reviewed and are available on the RPSBS web site.
Policy and Procedures Manual Version 5 September 2020: This is the overarching policy document for RPSBS Ltd. The Social Media, Heat, Ethics and Disciplinary policies have all be incorporated into this manual.
Judges Policy September 2020: This policy incorporates the changes made by the Board since it’s last review in January 2018.
Showing Rules and Regulations and Conditions of Entry September 2020: The only changes are to some incorrect rule references.
State Committee Structures & Procedures September 2020: Timelines have been reviewed and the option for co-opting members onto committees has been replaced with the option for the Board to call for mid-year nominations if committees require additional members to remain viable.
Direct Deposits: The office asks that members paying by Direct Deposit transfer the funds only when the paperwork is being submitted. This will significantly assist the receipting staff.
The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 13th January 2021 commencing 10.00am Eastern Summer Time. Any submissions to the Board are required by 18th December.

TAS Committee News
Tasmanian Riding Pony Members had a very successful Show Horse Council Horse of the Year show.
Some of the major winners included Anne and Jess Campbell’s HARRY OF POTTER PARK who won the Open and Child’s Small Galloway of the year and went on to take the Supreme Ridden Exhibit of the Show. Leanne Bell took out the Runner Up Small Galloway with GORDON PARK CHORUS LINE.
The overheight riding ponies were well represented with BAYVIEW GOLD CLASS (owner and exhibited by Anne and Jess Campbell) who won the Newcomer and Open Large Galloway of the Year and took out the supreme newcomer of the show. Kim Newman took out Runner Up Small Hack with BRENTON PARK REFLECTIONS OF ACE.
GLORIFY OF SEFTON (Anne and Jess Campbell) took out the Runner Up Small Hunter Galloway of the year. Congratulations to the Campbell Family for taking out the Riding Pony sponsorship at the horse of the year show.
Jackson Radley had a wonderful show on LYNDHURST CHINA DOLL who took out the Child’s Large Pony and Runner Up Open Large Pony. Congratulations to Simonn and Jocelyn Mansley and TIANA SHILOAH on winning the Small Pony of the Year.
It was great to see so many riding ponies out competing and attention will now turn to the ETas Gala which is being held on Saturday 7th November.
Preparations are in full swing by the Tasmanian Committee for the 2021 State Riding Pony Show. Schedule, dates and venue will be announced shortly. Happy Riding.

Yes in conjunction with the ABSS Summer Carnival we are running a ring at the Bendigo Showgrounds on the 5th of December 2020.
