2019 May Newsletter

From the Board

Special thanks and congratulations to those members who nominated or re-nominated for election to the various RPSBS state committees.  No elections were required in any states.  Members are encouraged to attend their state annual meetings.  To any committee members resigning, we thank you for your efforts and support.

The following message was posted in the April RPSBS Information Bulletin:

Members are reminded to get their young stock registrations into the office by July 31 by post or email. Please do not post and email paperwork with credit card details on both as you risk cc details being used twice.  If in drought or financial hardship please contact the National Office. They will be only too happy to negotiate special arrangements.

Some members might not be aware that this rule was introduced three years ago and that there has been a three year moratorium in which members have had the opportunity to catch up with their animal registrations. Up until July 31 there are no extra charges for registering older animals.

A great deal of time and effort is spent in the office assisting people in their attempts to get mature animals registered.  Often, they are multiple owners removed from a breeder that is no longer contactable.

If members have a number of animals yet to be registered or are in financial difficulty at the moment we urge them to contact the office for assistance and to negotiate special arrangements. We do want to have as many of our animals registered before July 31 so please, there is time, submit the paperwork.

Vale Sally George

Supreme Champion Led Show Pony Exhibit RATHOWEN SCARLET RIBBONS exhibited by Nina George with judge Michael Gates.

Queensland Riding Pony Committee extends sincere condolences to the family of our late member, Sally George who departed this life 27.4.2019. Sally leaves behind her husband, Peter George, their daughter and son in law, Nina and Matt Stone, their daughter and Sally’s first grandchild, Maddi, and extended family members.

We also offer special sympathy to Sally’s many

close friends whose connections with her came through family, shared personal circumstances, business and the equestrian world.

Words, however kind, can’t mend your heartache, But those who care and share your loss wish you comfort and peace of mind. May you find strength in the love of family and in the warm embrace of friends.

VIC Committee News

The Equinade Victorian Riding Pony Foal show is on the 11th of May at Tatura Park.  We are so grateful to all our supporters and sponsors.  Our naming right sponsor has had a wonderful association with the Victorian Society for many many years.  Please show your gratitude to our sponsor whenever you can.  Without their continued support our shows would not have the superb awards that we are able to offer. At this years foal show we have many prizes, from stunning garlands to multiple vouchers from Hygain.  Look forward to seeing you all there.

Reminders to members that our AMM is happening this month:  Saturday the 25th May, 2019 at The Werribee RSL, 2A Synnot Street, Werribee VIC  3030.

Nominations for the Victorian Committee have now closed.  Results will be available once all due process has been completed.

On July 21st we are running a Judges seminar in conjunction with EV & SHC.  A timely reminder that judges must attend a seminar at the minimum once every 3 years to remain on the panel.  This years speaker is Dr Andrew Hunt from SA discussing medication control.

Here is a little quote for our members far and wide suffering in this drought “ For after all the best thing one can do when its raining is let is rain”
