2019 April Newsletter

From the Board

STATE ANNUAL MEETINGS
The dates of the State Annual Meetings have been posted on the states’ websites together with the Nomination Form for election to State Committees.
All RPSBS members that have full voting rights in that state from prior to January 31st 2019 are eligible to nominate for their State Committee. Members are asked to seriously consider joining their committee and help promote our beautiful Riding Ponies.  Nominations open on March 31 and close on April 20. For full details please go to:
https://www.rpsbs.com.au/the-society/policies-procedures/YOUNGSTOCK REGISTRATION
Members are reminded to get their youngstock registrations into the office by July 31 by  post or email. Again a reminder to please do not post and email paperwork with credit card details on both as you risk cc details being used twice.

RPSBS LTD AGM
The 2019 RPSBS Ltd. AGM is being in WA on June 8 at the Tradewinds Hotel, Fremantle.  A Riding Pony Judges’ Seminar will be held in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting and Forum of Members as was conducted in Adelaide in 2018.  This will be the first AGM to be held in WA. The Directors are looking forward to meeting as many of our WA members as possible.

JUDGES POLICY UPDATE
The Judge Policy has been updated and is available on the website. It now includes a Code of Conduct for Judges, Guidelines and a Judge Agreement. https://www.rpsbs.com.au/judges/judges-policy/

SHOWING RULES UPDATE
The Showing Rules are also being updated to note that the minimum age of a child to ride independently in RPSBS events is 5 years.

DROUGHT ASSISTANCE
The Board is very much aware of the financial hardship affecting breeders struggling to cope with the drought. Remember that all transactions apart from membership can be paid off. Please submit your paperwork with a letter advising that you need to pay it off and the documentation will be filed and processed when it is paid off.

SELLING GELDINGS
If a breeder wishes to ensure that a foal bred can only be registered as a gelding it is imperative that it is gelded before leaving home. Once transferred, the recorded owner can apply to have the registration amended to that of a colt or stallion upon payment of the required fee.

STALLION REGISTRATIONS
In order for semen to be eligible to be used to register a RPSBS Ltd animal the sire must have been Stallion registered.

Where an RPSBS Ltd registered animal has been exported and reimported, no re-registration fee will be required once the horse has been identified as being the original animal by either DNA typing or verification of the recorded microchip by a Veterinarian.

FEE REDUCTIONS

  • Registration fee for an Approved Stallion has been reduced to $75.00
  • The fee to amend details on a registration certificate eg change of colour has been reduced to $10
