Pony Profile – Silkwood Heaven Can Wait

Silkwood Heaven Can wait was no stranger to the show ring, beginning her showing career as a 4 year old after having her first foal at the age of 3 ( Silkwood Heavens Chalice). Sydney Royal Easter Show was Sarah’s first outing where she was awarded Supreme Led Riding Pony of the Show. Soon after Sarah began her ridden debut where she proved she wasn’t just a stunning, beautiful moving pony but very quickly became a great ambassador for the riding pony breed, being one of the most decorated large ponies in the country. Sarah won nearly every open and childs ridden champions in both the Riding Pony and open rings, famous for her extraordinary lengthen trot and big poppy eyes she took the show world by storm.

At Sarah’s first couple of ridden shows she was crowned Champion ridden Riding pony and Novice pony at Brisbane Royal Show, Champion Large pony at Pacific Coast and then went on to win EFA N.S.W Champion Large Pony of the Year at only her 6th show under saddle, qualifying her for Nationals in 2 months time. It was at nationals that Mum and I first saw this pony in the flesh we both thought she was the most beautiful pony we had ever seen. We watched her win EFA National Large pony at her 7th show and she took both ours and the crowds breath away from the second she entered the arena.

A couple of days after Nationals we where lucky enough to purchase the beautiful Sarah and soon after she made the trip to WA, where in the next 4 years of showing with her she won every major title in both breed and open shows there was to win and carried many kids to win rider championships. Some of sarahs Major wins include….

After Sarah retired from showing she proved to be as good of a brood mare as show pony. Sarah has now produced 4 foals, her first foal Silkwood Heavens Chalice was bred by Silkwood stud prior to Sarah showing and I was lucky enough to campaign this mare in WA for the stud. In her first and only season of showing Candy won,

Emyella Pure Heaven and Emyella Touch of Heaven are both getting ready to start under saddle. Sarah also has a stunning colt Emyella Heavens Soprano by Royalwood Boy Soprano at foot at the moment. I am extremely lucky that Sarah has passed on to all her progeny her stunning face and movement as well as her amazing, soft personality.
