NSW Committee

The NSW RP committee held a very well-supported show on Sunday 5th February at Hawkesbury Showground.  The program included a full round of Riding Pony classes for both Show Pony and Show Hunter types, as well as youngstock classes.  There were also classes for Open and Open Show Hunters in Hacks, Galloways and Ponies plus Other Breeds.

The Committee was greatly excited to be able to host two International judges for our show, our thanks to Ms Beverley Moore and Mr Jerome Harforth for giving us their time and expertise and also thank you to the lovely Sue Oberg for officiating in our Other Breeds ring.

NSW members used this show opportunity to ensure their ponies were ready for Canberra Royal and official measuring was also available.  Members took this opportunity to have one less job to do at Canberra.

Our results included:

  • Supreme Led Senior Show Pony – Royalwood After Dark, exhibited by Emily Mears
  • Supreme Led Senior Show Hunter Pony – Rathowen Suddenly A Star, exhibited by Kirsten strath
  • Supreme Led Junior Show Pony – Royalwood Heavenly Chorus, exhibited by Joanne Prestwidge
  • Supreme Led Junior Show Hunter Pony – Gentry Park Country Mile, exhibited by Tenille Tuoro
  • Champion Ridden Show Pony 14.2hh and under was Merry Jewel of Royalwood exhibited by Liz Daly
  • Champion Ridden Show Hunter Pony 14.2hh and under was Bell’s Mountain Arizona exhibited by Leanne Corney.

The committee thanks their fabulous judges and of course our marvellous volunteers who helped out on the day and afterwards. A show does not run itself.

The NSW committee also hosted a Judges Seminar in December via ZOOM and this recording is now available for any RPSBS judges or people who wish to join the RP Judges Panel. The cost to view the ZOOM recording is $10.00 and can be used to meet the criteria for being considered for the Panel.  If you have enquiries about this opportunity to either join the panel or be returned to the Panel, if you have been dropped off, please Fiona Clark ( Tas Director) who will be able to assist you. Fiona’s details are on the website as a member of the Board of Directors.

Lots of NSW members attended Canberra Royal where all the placing were hotly competed for, the classes were vet well supported so all winners and place-getters are to be congratulated.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Sydney Royal Easter show we’re again we anticipate a strong lineup in all the Riding Pony classes.

The NSW RP Committee sponsors RP classes at both Canberra and Sydney Royals as well as numerous Agricultural shows.

Nominations to join the NSW RP Committee are now open, please look for further information on the RP website or call the National office.
