From The Office

A reminder that Royal Show checks are currently being conducted, therefore, please ensure that:

  • All owners / exhibitors / handlers / riders are current financial members of the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd. AND
  • That all ponies must be registered, transferred or leased to their correct owner/lessee, and entered as such.

Please ensure you allow adequate time prior to the close of entries to have your unregistered or not transferred/leased ponies paperwork completed.

We always try to do our best to accommodate members lodging paperwork and require it quickly, however, some matters are beyond our control, particularly if your paperwork is incomplete or incorrect.

VIC Committee

January has heralded the first of our Vic Committee run shows with the RPOTY held at the EV Summer Show @ WPEC.

After a small hiccup with concerns over impending heat, we had to shift the day from Saturday to Sunday which was greatly appreciated by horses and humans.

The day was a success with many entries superbly turned out and of equal quality.  Thanks to our judge Kym Munkman (Melody Park Riding Ponies) who was pretty in pink and with a lovely smile took it all in her stride.  She was ably assisted by our ring steward Jane Irvine (Empire Riding Ponies) who was so efficient and pleasant it just added to the whole affair.  Thank you to the 19 studs/breeders/owners etc who supported us with our 19 championships on offer.

Our next show is very soon, 11th of February at Barastoc HOTY the program is out now.

SA Committee

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances RPSBS SA committee have had to cancel the upcoming Murray Bridge All Breed Show to be held Sunday 12/2/2023 primarily due to a double booking of the showgrounds.

We are looking at the possibility of running this event on an alternative date later in the year.
All entries received so far will be reimbursed and sponsors / food vendors / officials will be contacted in due course.

We are extremely apologetic to all those looking forward to this show’ but unfortunately we have tried all avenues to overcome this disaster unfortunately.
Sincerely, RPSBS SA Committee

NSW Committee

The NSW RPSBS Committee ran a very successful 2022 State Riding Pony Show in conjunction with The Hunter Horse Association on Sunday 20th November 2022 at Hawkesbury Showgrounds with over 100 horses entered and many more who entered on the day for the Open classes, this was a new addition to the current program to cater for all types of Show Horses and Hunters as well as our beautiful Riding Ponies.

So good to see the chance of gaining 3 qualifications in 1 day at one venue. Many thanks to all the Sponsors who have supported our State Shows especially B2B Thoroughbreds who were the Naming rights Sponsor for 2022.

The hardworking NSWRP Committee also had a Judges Seminar on Saturday 10th December at Holiday Inn at Mascot and via Zoom for all prospective Judges and past judges who needed to update their names on the Judging List.

Currently, we are checking the Membership status of anyone entering Riding Pony classes at Canberra and Sydney Royal, all membership must be current otherwise your entry will not be accepted. Reminders have been emailed to those who are unfinancial to date.

NSW RPSBS Committee are holding a show on 5th February at Hawkesbury Showground as a second show for members, please support this show by entering via Nominate, low entry fees and lots of RP and Breed classes, we have secured 2 International Judges for this show.

If anyone would like to help on the day please contact Alison Doyal on 0488 901 557.
