Welcome to the new beginnings of 2022, who would have thought that the world would still be coping with the COVID-19 epidemic and that the process of going to a show would be so complicated with entering online and checking in before entry, social distancing as  well as no hugs or cuddles from anyone….this is the new norm unfortunately and as such we have to change the way we showcase our Riding Ponies. Please check the RP website for any information about shows and especially online competitions that are being put up by the publicity guru Despina from Show Pony Creative as well as the Facebook news and captions.

We welcome all the new Judges who have been approved by the Board and are being placed on the RP judges list.

The RPSBS Office has been able to continue with a restricted presence of two in the office at one time.

The Publication of the Riding Pony annual is starting to gather momentum so if you want to showcase your Riding Pony please check out the website for more information.

Please ensure if you are requiring DNA Testing, that you allow plenty of time for processing.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 even though the lab has new measures in place, it is possible the laboratory may need to shut down for a short period of time at short notice.

If this were to happen, all testing would need to be suspended and we would not be able to process any requests for urgent testing. Whilst we hope this does not happen, we need to be prepared for this possibility in the current environment.

So please ensure you send testing needed as soon as possible to allow for any delays in processing.

Finally, 2022 has arrived and with it the activity of the show ring. Victoria has seen quite a few shows on each weekend so far and lots of smiling faces.

RPSB VIC committee ran our RPOTY last weekend in conjunction with the EV Summer Show at WPEC.  We were very pleased with the support from our member base and the quality of the ponies on offer was very pleasing to our judge Mark Bullen.  It was a bit of a challenge to organize with people “Evaporating” into ISO but we got there and the weather gods were kind and all went off without a glitch.

February sees our 2^nd show of the season, running in conjunction with Barastoc HOTY again at WPEC, we are offering a fantastic prize kindly donated by Beckworth Stud of a free service (conditions apply) to their stallion Beckworth Rising Command, further information to follow.  The program will be available shortly as well as Judges names.

We also wish to welcome our new secretary Samantha Wood to the team, looking forward to her support in the near future. 

The SA Committee is proud to be running the SA Riding Pony Pageant in the Park in conjunction with the Murray Bridge All Breeds Show!

Are you interested in joining the SA RPSBS Committee? 

Expressions of interest being taken for joining the committee. We have a few vacancies now. Nominations to be made by late March.

There are some shows just getting started in 2022 with great entries for the hard working committees and the NSW committee is committed to Sponsoring a vast majority of shows this year.

2022 Sydney Royal we have sponsored the whole  Riding Pony Ring. As well as Canberra Royal with 93 entries in the Riding Pony Ring as well as some studs who have sponsored Rugs and Garlands , the NPOTY 5 Garlands package for the Riding Pony ring,  and finally the 2022 ENSW Southern Cross Show Horse Spectacular.

The NSW committee is working on getting more RP shows on the calendar for this year also.
