2022 February Bulletin

Chair Report

In this months February Bulletin we wish to highlight the progress of most State committees in getting back to organising Riding Pony shows either as a stand alone event or with other Breed or Show Societies. Behind all these events are the hard working committees who put in countless hours before and after the event, booking venues, putting out a program, sourcing Sponsors ordering ribbons , Garlands and rugs, Judges accommodation flights etc , publicity and countless other things for all our members. It is sad to hear that there are still some people who use social media to try to undermine the integrity of these people. We all need to fully support these committees.

With the opening up of more shows I have been working with Lindy at RPSBS office to ensure that at all State and Royal Shows , all handlers, Riders and owners are current financial members as this covers insurance when anyone is competing in a Riding Pony class at any competition level. This has shown that there are many owners, riders handlers etc have not paid their current membership.

Please note that Sydney Royal, Toowoomba Royal and Canberra are all now checking with the RPSBS office to ensure that everyone is compliant with the rules. The current financial year is from July 2021 to June 2022, anyone can check their membership and registration status on the SAMMS data base on the Riding Pony website. Good luck to all competing at these events.
Please send any photos to our publicity team annual@rpsbs.com.au  for the upcoming RP Annual or to be put on the RP website publicity@rpsbs.com.au, and congratulations to our winner of the monthly foal competition Kensington High Fashion, a stunning example of the true Riding Pony.

NSW Committee

This month heralds the start of our Big Show Season here in NSW.

And the NSW Riding Pony Committee is very proud to be able to contribute members funds back into the sport by sponsoring numerous awards and classes across these shows. Canberra Royal Show, Southern Cross Showhorse Spectacular, Grand National and Sydney Royal all feature classes sponsored by Riding Pony NSW. What a privilege it is to be able to do this.

Best wishes to all of our members that are entered for these shows and numerous other Ag Shows that run at this time of the year. Enjoy your ponies and time spent seeing friends – that’s what it is all about!!!
