From the Board

Welcome, RPSBS members to the first of our monthly newsletters. 

These newsletters replace the quarterly Information Bulletins that were published after every Board meeting and provide an opportunity for members to be regularly updated on all National and State Riding Pony news and events.

Since our last Bulletin the Board Directors have been extremely busy with the following:

Company Treasurer Appointed
Debra Watson, a bookkeeper and previous Arabian Horse Society Treasurer, has taken on the role of Company Treasurer with Christine Gibbons retaining her role as the Company Secretary.

RPSBS Publicity
RPSBS Ltd has signed a contract with Show Pony Graphics Ltd to provide Publicity and Marketing services to the Society. Principal of Show Pony Graphics, Despina Mitrakas will also take on the role of RPSBS Annual editor.

New NSW Committee Appointed
New RPSBS New South Wales committee elections were called and our congratulations go to the new committee with office bearer positions going to John Paget, Chair; Amanda Jefferys, Vice Chair; Ashley Cooper, Secretary/Board Director; and Sandra James, Treasurer/Second Director.

New contract signed for the registry / secretarial services
A new contract has been negotiated and signed with the Arabian Horse Society for the provision of registry and secretarial services to RPSBS.

State Governance and Procedures Revised
The State Governance and Procedures document has been revised with the aim of making it as simple as possible for our state committees.  I would ask all members, whenever possible, to support our state committees whose members work so tirelessly on your behalf by supporting RPSBS shows or classes through their participation and sponsorship.

Childs Ridden Pony Workout Updated
The Child’s Ridden Pony workout has been revised and can be viewed on the RPSBS web site. Click here

Have you lodged your Stallion Nominations?
Stallion owners are asked to check that they have lodged their 2018 Stallion Nominations and that all previous nominations have been lodged. Click here for the nomination form.

The next RPSBS Ltd. Board of Directors meeting will be held on Wednesday 9th January at the Mercure Hotel, Sydney.

Important Notice – Shows are checking memberships & registrations

If you are competing in any show run under RPSBS Rules then you MUST ensure you as the exhibitor is a CURRENT financial member, the pony is registered and in the entering correct exhibitors name and that your HANDLER or RIDER is at least a PARTICIPANT Member of the RPSBS.

Remember Ponies 4 years and over MUST be adult registered and cannot be shown on foal recorded registrations. All colts 2 years and over must be adult registered.

Any Judges who are unfinancial have been suspended until such time as they renew their membership.

It is hoped that in the November newsletter that it can be announced that the online membership renewal facility is now operational.

2019 RPSBS Australian Performance Horse Magazine National Annual High Point Awards 

We have had a fantastic response to the new leaderboard competition.

It is hoped that all members competing will join the RPSBS Leaderboard competition.  It is so easy to upload your results to the RPSBS web site from your phone while still at the show to ensure you don’t forget.

The 2018 Annual is now available to view online at https://www.rpsbs.com.au/current-rpsbs-annual/  Please share it with your friends.

In order to keep producing the best Annual possible, we have created a survey to gather your feedback.

We ask you all to take 5 mins of your time to answer it as honestly as you can so we can produce an Annual that all our members will value and support.

NSW Committee News

The Riding Pony NSW Committee is is pleased to announce the State Show will be held on the 17th November, in collaboration with the EA Show in Canberra.

The committee is working towards forging links with other associations to bring Riding Pony Features Show events to branded the access for riding ponies competing.

We are pleased to Claim the Date January 12th 2019 will be our Judges Workshop held in conjunction with the Show Horse Council Judges workshop. This will be at a lovely event on the Central Coast NSW and an ideal day to update skills for both organisations.

QLD Committee News

QLD State Show

It’s shaping up to be a great event with fabulous classes run over two days. Class sponsorship is still available.  Contact Leonie Walsh on 0414 893 843 if you’d like to sponsor a class.  Only $50 per class.

Drought Relief Silent Auction

Our committee has decided to run a Silent Auction with some terrific prizes to date with proceeds to  go to Queensland Drought Relief.  To date we have generous sponsorship from the following people.  Please come on board.
