- RPSBS members are reminded that a new showing rule was introduced as of July 1, 2017: “All animals are to be exhibited with the description as noted on the registration record with RPSBS Ltd. including, but not limited to, colour, markings and brands.” This also relates to the ownership record of the horse, the name of the recorded owner/lessee must be noted in the exhibitor name.
- As of now there will be no Membership Joining Fees and Late Renewal Fees. The cost of RPSBS memberships for new members and past members, whose memberships have lapsed for a period of 3 years or more, will be 60 % of the annual rate and if the application is made between May 1 and June 30 then the membership will financial until June 30 for the following year.
- Where paperwork has been submitted to the Society for processing there will be no refund applicable if the owner changes their mind. Should the animal not be eligible for registration then a refund will be applicable. Should the animal die prior to the application being finalised but after processing has begun then a $20 processing fee will be retained.
- A review has been conducted by the RPSBS Board into the necessity for RPSBS Judges to have current Working With Children Cards issued by the various state governments. Effective immediately, it is no longer a requirement that RPSBS Panel Judges have a current Working With Children’s certification. The Board is mindful of its obligations towards the protection of Children and, although not mandatory, does recommend that judges and volunteers maintain WWC certifications especially in those states that do not charge for this service. Parents are reminded that all coaches, instructors, etc working with their children are required to have current WWC certification.
- The Annual General meeting of the RPSBS Ltd will be held in Adelaide on 16th June 2018, venue to be advised. The Board feels that is it important for members in all states to have the opportunity to attend at least every few years.
- All financial members should have received their copy of the 2017 RPSBS Annual. Our special thanks must go to Eleanor Gerry, Liz Francis and Despina Mitrakas for yet another beautiful, professional testament to our breeders, producers and animals. Planning has commenced on the 2018 Annual and we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join the Annual team as the Advertising Manager whose role will be to source and liaise with potential advertisers. The RPSBS office takes on the role of invoicing and receiving monies, Show Pony Graphics do the necessary ad design and layout work but there is the vital role of contacting past advertisers and sourcing new advertisers. The Board offers a commission of 10% on all advertising sales and remuneration of costs associated with the position to be negotiated.
- Members wishing to Direct Deposit funds for transactions to be processed are reminded that it is essential that the deposit is clearly referenced with your surname, not an abbreviation, and that paperwork is then immediately emailed to the Society so the payment can be allocated.
