 MEMBERSHIP RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

Effective: 26 June, 2016


Membership of the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd (RPSBS) commences on 1 July annually.

New members joining from April 1 to June 30 in any year shall have their membership carried forward to the following year. 

The membership name will be used for all transactions with the Society eg, registrations, transfers, show entries and most correspondence. 

All members of the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd must abide by the Rules, Regulations and By-Laws of the Society and acknowledge the $10 Limited Liability:

Benefits

Ordinary Member

1 member only. An Ordinary Member may register, transfer and carry out other transactions with the Society.  An Ordinary Member has voting rights, has insurance coverage, receives a copy of the RPSBS Annual and Member Bulletins.  They may also show their registered horse(s) at events conducted under the rules of the RPSBS.  

A maximum of 2 participants may be added to an Ordinary Membership and the additional Participant fee applies.  

Ordinary Members under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a Nominee who holds a financial RPSBS membership.

Family Member

Family memberships provides for up to five members of the same family and may consist of 2 adults and 3 children, or 1 adult and 4 children.  All children must be from the same family and aged under 18 years. 

Each Family membership must have a Nominee who is the authorised representative and who has voting rights.  The Nominee must be 18 years of age or over. 

A Family Membership may register, transfer and carry out other transactions with the Society.  A Family Membership, has insurance coverage, receives one copy of the RPSBS Annual and Member Bulletins.  They may also show their registered horse(s) at events conducted under the rules of the RPSBS. 

Joint / Business Member

Joint memberships can consist of two surnames only.  A Business membership must be a registered business name.  

Each Joint / Business membership must have a Nominee who is the authorised representative and who has voting rights  (must be over 18 years of age).  Only one membership card will be issued in the name of the Joint or Business membership. The non-authorised Joint or Business representative must be added as a Participant and the additional Participant fee applies.  

Only one voting right per membership.  

A maximum of 2 participants may be added to a Joint / Business Membership and the additional Participant fee applies.

Participant Member

Participants are additional members who are associated with a membership (where applicable).

A participant can ride or handle a horse but cannot register a horse in their own name.  

Participant members have insurance coverage but do not have voting rights and do not receive a copy of the Annual.

Judge Members*

A Judge Member of the RPSBS is a Member who is an approved Judge, listed on the Society’s Panel Judge Listing.  

A Judge member cannot conduct any transactions other than membership with the Society.  Judge members have insurance coverage but do not have voting rights and do not receive a copy of the Annual. 

Note:  Full, Family, Joint / Business, Participant and Life members may be Judges, listed on the Society’s Panel Judge Listing and do not need to hold a separate Judge membership. 

No Participants can be added to a Judge membership.

Life Member

Life membership is restricted to an individual person, must be in the Nominee’s name and is not transferable. 

A Life member may register, transfer and carry out other transactions with the Society.  A Life member has insurance coverage, receives one copy of the RPSBS Annual and Member Bulletins.  They may also show their registered horse(s) at events conducted under the rules of the RPSBS.  

The Life membership attracts a one off fee. 

No Participants can be added to a Life membership.

 

 

All new Members must sign the Risk Warning & Waiver form, acknowledging the inherent risk associated with equine activities.  In addition, a Parental Consent and Indemnity form must be completed for any Member under the age of 18 years and signed by a parent or guardian.  Original forms must accompany the Membership Application form and be lodged with the National Office.  

When renewing any category of membership, the Member(s) must acknowledge and accept the Insurance Waiver statements.  Memberships will only be validated and finalised upon receipt of the signed Membership Renewal form by the National Office, mandatory for insurance compliance.
