From the National Chairperson

Hello again

It gives me great pleasure to communicate with members via the new website.  I hope that you have found this new version both interesting and informative.  There is always room for improvement and it is your feedback and suggestions which will influence further changes. Do not be afraid to email, write or phone the National office with your comments and ideas.  More photos are certainly welcome, be sure to include the photographers credit and name the pony etc.  Before sending a photo give Kaye or Michelle a ring and they will happily lead you along the correct pathway.

The RPSBS Communication committee is well on the way with this year’s Annual, again I encourage you to contact the National office (all contact details can be found on the website) with any questions you may have, we will need to close off soon to ensure we make the promised distribution date.  State Committee Public Relations officers will also be contacting some members for appropriate photos for the State gallery section of the Annual.  It is essential that we have photos with the correct number of pixels, side on shots, no rugs  etc, while this may sound like I know what I am talking about, that is the wrong impression.  It is Kaye or Eleanor Gerry who are the people to ask,  I am technically challenged in that area.

Each state should by now have organised their individual Annual  General Meeting of Members, please try to take that opportunity to attend and give your opinions to the people representing your interests.  I am always encouraging people to contact their state committees and take the opportunity to have their say heard – it is also a wonderful way to meet people with similar interests and to exchange ideas.

The National AGM will be held in Melbourne on Saturday 16th June commencing at 4.30pm. Every member is both  welcome and invited to attend, further detailed information will be forwarded to you shortly, including an invitation to join the Directors  for dinner after the meeting – unfortunately each person will be paying for their own meal and drinks.  There will be a couple of special presentations and of course the opportunity to network with other pony people, make new friends and catch up with old ones.  The conference centre is comfortable, we held the 2011 AGM there and the food has been very good and the company will be stimulating.

Here in NSW the weather is turning chilly and I note snow fell in the Victorian Alps on Anzac Day, I am envious of the members and ponies living in the northern states where it is still at least warm, I am not good in the cold.

Finally don’t forget to register all those new foals from the last season before they become yearlings, the new form is on the website.

Regards
Alison Doyle
